Report a Crime
To report a crime in progress, or if you believe there is an imminent threat to property or safety, call 911.
If you have been the victim of a crime on the property, please promptly file a police report. You can do this in person at the West Valley LAPD Station, at 19020 Vanowen Street in Reseda, or you can contact the desk officer to file a report by phone at (818) 374-7611. They are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day of the year. If you cannot reach a desk officer, or if the officer will not take a report, call (877) 275-5273, ask for police dispatch, and request an officer to come to the location and take the report. Do not file crime reports on the LAPD website; because the Association maintains video surveillance, any crimes that occur on our property must be reported in person or by phone.
After contacting the police, contact the Night Watchman (see below) and provide the police report and/or incident number, along with details of the crime, so he can retrieve and secure the video to be provided to you and the police. The Night Watchman will also advise Association management regarding trends and incidents.
Again, for all criminal matters, contact the police first, and then inform the Night Watchman. The Association's Night Watchman is not a first responder for criminal activity, and does not conduct investigations. Click here for more information about the Association's role in security and crime prevention.
Report Suspicious Activity or Safety Concerns
If suspicious activity is presently occuring, contact the police if you feel this is warranted. Do not rely on Association employees or contractors to provide for your physical safety or secure your personal property, as this is not the responsibility of the Association. If there is no immediate threat, call the LAPD non-emergency line at (877) 275-5273. If there is an immediate threat, call 911. Then contact the Night Watchman (see below) so he can inform Association management. Click here for more information about the Association's role in security and crime prevention.
If you have observed incidents you think the Association should be aware of in case proactive measures can be taken or warnings issued to your fellow residents, or for other areas of concern regarding building security that require special attention (such as a broken lock or lights), please contact the Night Watchman using the information below.
How to Contact the Night Watchman
